A team of CLP engineers gave S.3 & S.4 a talk on the operation of CLP and the prospect of joining their team. One of the CLP presenters is our alumnus. At the beginning, they introduced the history of CLP, their power plants both in Hong Kong and China, the types of the fuel used for generating electricity. Recently, CLP has tried very means to reduce the pollutants during the process of generating electricity. They resort to greener energy sources such as natural gas and low sulphur coal. They presented a lot of statistics relating to household energy consumption. They also emphasized the importance of using renewable energy such as wind power and solar energy. They suggested some ways of saving electricity and reducing carbon footprint. Afterwards, students were invited to answer the questions. Students who provided the correct answer could get an umbrella made by China Light. They also described how the school leavers and university graduates can join their working team and the career prospects of CLP employees. Finally, students were required to fill in a questionnaire before they left.
